Presented by The Wool Poppies – ATHA Chapter #57, Central California Traditional Rug Hookers
We’re back—and more inspired than ever! Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Sierra Nevada foothills, Hooker Hill Rug Retreat 2026 invites you to reconnect with your creativity, your community, and the timeless tradition of rug hooking—an evolving blend of art and craft.
What began as a small gathering of passionate rug hookers has grown into a cherished annual retreat. Our mission is rooted in a deep love for traditional rug hooking—and in the belief that this expressive medium deserves a rightful place in the world of fiber arts. Each year, we proudly bring renowned instructors to California to help participants stretch their skills, deepen their vision, and explore the artistic possibilities of the hooked rug.
Whether you see yourself as an artist, a craftsperson, or somewhere in between, you’ll find inspiration and support here. Hooker Hill is a place where creativity flourishes, techniques are honed, and your personal voice as a maker is celebrated.
Each evening at 5pm, we gather for a wine social on the patio—a relaxed time to connect, share stories, and reflect on the day’s discoveries. Two classes become one community, united by laughter, learning, and a love for handmade beauty.
So whether you’re a seasoned hooker or just discovering the magic of wool and linen, join us. At Hooker Hill Rug Retreat, tradition meets innovation, craft meets art, and strangers become friends.
